Reuben began his career with United Fashions of Texas (Melrose Stores), a family fashion clothing store founded by the Bar Yadin family in 1976. Today he serves as CEO, having grown the company from 1 store in McAllen, Texas to more than 100 stores and 1,300 employees located throughout the Southwest. In 1998, Reuben began a second career which started as a small side business investing in commercial shopping centers. Over the next 20+ years, history repeated itself as he turned 1 investment in Edinburg, TX into 60 commercial properties (most of which are retail centers) containing over 3 million square feet in Net Rentable Area and a portfolio value of more than $300 million. To help facilitate his investment efforts, Reuben formed CBG (Commercial Builders Group) which has evolved into a full service, vertically integrated real estate company providing the portfolio with property management, leasing, development, asset management, financing, acquisition and disposition services. Reuben or his affiliates are significant investors in each of his commercial real estate efforts.
